Our work with MAPFRE has focused on supporting the development of its people managers through a series of tailored leadership workshops. Working closely with the HR team, we shaped the programme around the realities and challenges their managers face, rather than approaching development as a one-size-fits-all exercise.

The journey has included workshops on Resilience & Adaptability, Fostering Accountability, Decision Making, and Motivating & Recognising Teams — each creating space for managers to explore practical tools, challenge their thinking and connect the learning to situations they encounter in their everyday roles.

As Loredana Mallia, Chief Officer – HR, describes it:

“The workshops were not the off-the-shelf normal training.”

For us, that is an important part of the relationship. The work begins with understanding what the organisation needs, its culture and where its people are experiencing challenges. From there, we can shape the content and facilitation around the people in the room.

That approach has allowed the relationship with MAPFRE to develop beyond individual workshops into an ongoing partnership built around open conversations, feedback and a shared interest in creating meaningful development experiences.

In Loredana's words:

“It feels like a partnership because there is this trust… there is this relationship that we can work together.”

Ultimately, the programme is about more than developing individual management skills. It is about strengthening the human side of leadership — how managers respond to challenges, make decisions, create accountability, recognise their people and bring out the best in their teams.
